The Center for Technology and Society of FGV Law School at Rio was one of the institutions organizing the High Level Think Tank Forum at the World Internet Conference – Wuzhen Summit and dedicated to “Global Landscape and Order in the Digital Era”. The WIC Wuzhen is one of the biggest conferences on digital governance in the world and it is held annually by the Cyberspace Administration of China and the Government of the Zhejiang province. International High-level Think Tank Forum on the Internet
The event will be jointly organized by CTS-FGV, the Chinese Academy of Cyberspace Studies, the University of Edinburgh, and WIDE Project at Keio University. The 2021 Think Tank Forum is themed as “Global Landscape and Order in the Digital Era“. The forum will invite renowned experts and high-level representatives from global think tanks, research institutes, and international organizations to discuss and share ideas on technology regulation in the post-COVID-19 world, including opportunities and challenges brought by emerging technologies such as AI and 5G, international landscape and order in the digital era as well as role of think tanks in the global cooperation and rules making on global digital governance.
CTS-FGV was represented by its coordinator, Prof. Luca Belli, that spoke about the importance of think tanks with regards to digital cooperation, highlighting the positive example of the CyberBRICS Projetct in research, fostering multistakeholder cooperation and producing relevant research outputs.
